Micro- and nanotechnologies have advanced considerably in the past decades. Extensive research in these areas has yielded a wide range of applications and uncovered many potentials applicable to a growing amount of sectors, such as the agriculture and food sector. This workshop is a combined effort of the European HighTech Europe and FoodMicroSystems project participants to identify, explore and develop micro- and nanotechnologies in the food sector.
The workshop aims to investigate the needs and constraints of the (dairy) food industry in order to identify the opportunities where applications of micro-technologies can be implemented; but also charting the potential problems and "show-stoppers" and the regulatory frameworks to provide the boundaries in which these opportunities can be achieved.
