Partnership Program for Expats to begin 1 July 2012

To create a one-stop-shop for expats - a place where expatriate employees and their families can get as many services as possible in one place - this has been the result of a cooperation between large international companies and institutes of higher learning in the region of Twente.

The Expat Center began its Partnership Program for Expats on 1 July 2012. Various governmental and commercial organizations have been cooperating on this project in order to make the region of Twente more appealing as a destination location for international companies, knowledge institutes, expats and their families.

Partnership Program for Expats

The program consists of a service packet that is given to all arriving and departing expats. This packet gives instructions in how to navigate through various government agencies (such as obtaining a tax ID number or driver’s license), private services (such as housing or language courses) and social activities.

The Expat Center shows the way to various service providers, such as:

  • Housing
  • Language courses
  • Banking
  • Schools
  • Insurance
  • Immigration lawyers
  • Tax consulting
  • Job prospects
  • Telephone services
  • Child day care services
  • Volunteer organizations
  • Social networks
  • Sport organizations

This program has been created through the cooperation of the World Trade Center Twente, Region Twente, Chamber of Commerce East Netherlands, East Netherlands Development Agency (Oost NV), the cities of Hengelo and Enschede, the Regional Branding Organization Twente, the Career Center Twente and the largest international companies and knowledge institutes in the region.
