Food Valley and Health Valley

Food Valley and Health Valley, partially established by Oost NV, are promoting the Agrofood and Life Sciences (medical technology) sectors in the Netherlands. They facilitate networking, innovations, new business and the exchange of knowledge.

The Innovation Platform Twente

The Innovation Platform Twente does the same for the High Tech sector. All of these organizations are driven by Oost NV’s project managers who work on long-running innovation projects, securing financing for companies, and bringing business to the region of East Netherlands. We bring knowledge and entrepreneurship together, stimulate renewal, and create new, competitive opportunities for companies.

East Netherlands: excelling in Agrofood

East Netherlands is a renowned global leader in Agrofood. Through Food Valley, the region acts as one of the principle economic drivers of the Netherlands. A unique concentration of food and agro-related companies, knowledge and research institutes can be found within a thirty kilometer radius of the city of Wageningen. The University of Wagenigen and its related research institutes, with more than 15,000 working scientists, form an important foundation for this grouping.

The project managers of Oost NV work closely in the Food Valley region together with scientists, business owners and intermediaries to develop new knowledge and product and process renewal.

East Netherlands: leading in Life Sciences and Health

East Netherlands is also strong in medical technology. There are two strong medical clusters concentrated in the area:

- The Health Valley Foundation in Nijmegen can be found through the grouping of Radboud University, the University Medical Center, and the St. Maartens Clinic.
- The “Care & Technology” group with its partners of the University of Twente, the Rehabilitation Center “Het Roessingh,” and the Medical Spectrum Twente in Enschede

East Netherlands: strong in materials and high-tech systems

East Netherlands has a strong history of manufacturing, and has a reputation that puts it at the top in the development of advanced high-tech matierals and systems. The sub-region of Twente in East Netherlands has been leading in the development and application of knowledge in micro- and nanoparticles, advanced fibers and thermoplastic composites. Agencies in Twente also promote knowledge development in technology and health. More “intelligent” machines keep healthcare affordable by helping the aged and chronically ill to remain self-sufficient.

IPT

Researchers, companies, government organizations and the project managers of Oost NV work together on renewal projects through the Innovation Platform Twente (IPT). The IPT is a cooperative venture between the province of Overijssel and Oost NV.
